In anticipation of opening our doors to the public, we are preparing our building following guidelines for COVID-19 prevention. Cleaning, screening of employees and social distancing procedures are in place. Books returned are quarantined for three days before being checked back in and made available again. All our our soft seating, toys, puppets and anything else difficult to daily disinfect are removed from public spaces. Our community room is closed to the public. "Hanging out" at the library is discouraged as we stay on top of cleaning protocol while continuing to offer books and services.
The good news is you may make an appointment to browse our shelves, use the computers or receive other library services. When you arrive, we ask you to wear a mask. If you do not have one, we will provide one for you. We also ask you to leave young children at home since it is difficult for them to understand why they cannot play at the library at this time and their curiosity increases the cleaning regimen for staff.
New books are finally arriving daily, but we anticipate that we might have missed a few titles since we closed in March. Please contact us with your book requests and we will do our best to get those books into your hands. We want to remind you to take advantage of our extended hours. We are open until 7 pm Mon-Thurs, 5 pm Friday and Saturday from 10-2. Please note we will be closed July 3rd and 4th for the Independence Day holiday.
