"Our Memory Care Collection was thoughtfully developed with guidance from professionals who work closely with individuals experiencing memory loss. We wanted to create a collection that is both practical and meaningful, offering resources that encourage engagement, spark memories, provide comfort, and support caregivers as they navigate the challenges of dementia and other cognitive changes."

Jennifer Harden, Assistant Director and Adult Services Librarian

The Frankenmuth Wickson District Library's Memory Care Collection provides specialized resources designed to support individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other memory-related conditions, as well as their caregivers. Developed in consultation with healthcare and memory care professionals, the collection includes engaging hands-on materials, reminiscence tools, adaptive reading resources, therapeutic items, and activity kits that promote connection, comfort, cognitive engagement, and quality of life.

These resources are available for checkout, allowing families and care partners to access meaningful support both at home and in care settings.

"One of the greatest benefits of the collection is that families can check out items repeatedly as needs change over time. Many of these resources can be costly to purchase, so the collection also gives caregivers an opportunity to explore different tools, discover what works best for their loved one, and make informed decisions before investing in items of their own."
