Learn computers basics @ your library.

Patrons needing help with basic computer programs are invited to book time for one-on-one training.

 

The GCF LearnFree tutorials will be used.  The following topics will be offered:

· Computer Basics – for those new to computers. Will cover the basic parts of a computer, operating systems, applications, and computer safety.

· Internet 101 – Introductory course will guide you through the basics of getting online and using a browser.

· Email 101 – How to communicate properly and safely online.  If desired, a gmail account will be set up and patron will be taught the basics of sending and receiving emails.

· Word 2010 – For beginners or users of older versions of Word, this basic course will help you create professional looking documents using the latest Office suite.

· eBook downloads – will cover navigation of the library’s Overdrive eBook website, installation of necessary software and download to an eReader .

Appointments with our teen volunteer will be available on Thursday afternoons from 2-5 and Saturdays as needed.  Library staff is available by appointment.  Sessions are limited to 45 minutes and must be booked in advance.
