Many of our special projects are made possible by the help of volunteers.

"Many hands make light work."

The library staff is continually looking for opportunities to improve our services and facilities. We often have projects that can use an extra hand. The Library Friends group is instrumental in coordinating and providing volunteer help.

In the last year, volunteers have:woodworkers

  • painted
  • built bookshelves
  • moved 20,000 books on the first floor
  • maintained our garden
  • sewed slipcovers
  • cleaned and organized bookshelves
  • read to preschoolers
  • helped with art projectssewing
  • presented programs for adults, teens and children
  • washed toys in the children's wing
  • provided refreshments for activities
  • organized and maintained the ongoing booksale
  • and much more....

Many projects are ongoing, some take just an hour or two.  Let us know if you'd like to help out.
